Annotated translation: Militarism in Latin America (Pere Ortega y Juan S. Gómez)

This bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The first part is practical and it includes a translation of the first two chapters from the study Militarismo en América Latina (Militarism in Latin America) from Spanish into Czech language. The text describes the evolution and current situation of militarism in Latin America. The second part of the present thesis is theoretical and it includes a linguistic commentary of the translation. It consists of a translation-oriented text analysis made according to Nord's model, it's enriched by the Czech functional stylistics. The second part of the present work includes as well a description of translation problems on different levels and their solutions.

The first part is practical and it is represented by a translation of several chapters from La cerámica precolombina: el barro que los indios hicieron arte written by Emma Sánchez Montañés.
